Bio in 2020
Lynn C. O’Grady has served as the Director of College Counseling at Westridge School in Pasadena California for the past ten years, where she developed a state-of-the-art program that prepares students and their families for the transition to college. She also serves on the school’s Curriculum and Academic Standards Committee. Respected by colleagues and peers in the field, Westridge hosts events during the academic year for colleges throughout the nation, including Brown University, University of Chicago, NYU, Boston University, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, the University of Pennsylvania, and USC. Case Studies is a program hosted by Westridge and attended by Flintridge Prep, Poly, and the Webb School annually. She serves on the California Counselor Advisory Council for the University of Chicago and is a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC).
Experienced with more than 35 years as an educator, Lynn holds teaching credentials in California, New Jersey, and Minnesota. She has worked in college counseling in such notable schools as Beverly Hills High School in Los Angeles, and Princeton High School in New Jersey (Director of Guidance), and Point Loma High School in San Diego. She co-founded the Princeton High School Generation One Program (in association with Thomson Peterson Learning and Princeton University) for first generation college students, utilizing Princeton University students as mentors and guides for students who were the first in their family to attend college. She brought David Marcus, a Pulitzer Prize winning author who wrote the book “Acceptance” to Southern California for audiences in Beverly Hills High School and San Marino High School.
Lynn is the recipient of the Princeton Regional Schools Outstanding Distinguished Service Award in 2006 and the Princeton High School Woman of the Year in 2005. She was awarded the California State Parent Teacher Association Honorary Service Award in 1994.
Married to Rev. Jeffrey O’Grady, Lynn has three grown children and five grandchildren. She lives in San Marino California.
